📥 Composer - Importing Products with Modifiers
Use this when your products have modifiers – optional extras or choices, such as sauces, toppings, or add‑ons (e.g. Add fries, Extra cheese). Import the product first, then its modifiers.
Step-by-step: import products with modifiers
A. Import the base product
-
Open Inventory and go to Import
- In Composer, click Inventory from the left‑hand menu.
- Click the Import tab.
-
Import the product as a single item
- Find the main product in the list (for example, “Burger”).
- Click Import next to it, or tick multiple and click Import Selected.
- In the Import Products dialog, make sure Single is selected in the dropdown.
- Click Import Selected.
Your product is now in Composer.
B. Import the modifiers
-
Open the Modifiers tab
- In Composer, click the Modifiers tab (this is separate from Products).
-
Select which modifiers to import
- You will see a list of modifiers that haven’t been imported yet (for example, Extra Cheese, Add Fries).
- Tick the checkboxes for the modifiers you want to import. You can select one or many.
-
Import the modifiers as Add-ons
- Click Import next to a modifier, or Import Selected to import several at once.
- In the Import Modifiers dialog, make sure Add-on is selected from the dropdown. This tells Composer these are extras attached to products, not standalone items.
- Click Import Selected.
-
Confirm everything has imported correctly
- Check both your Products tab and Modifiers tab in Composer.
- The product and its modifiers should now be available to use together in pricelists or bundles.
Tips
- Keep modifier names short and descriptive (e.g. Add fries, No onions, Extra shot).
- If a modifier is missing from the Import list, check it has been created in Slerp Controls first.
