Configuring your Lightspeed K-Series

Learn how to configure POS Configurations and Order Profiles in Lightspeed to ensure orders sync correctly with Slerp.

POS Configuration

What is a POS configuration?

A POS configuration is a group of settings managed in the Lightspeed Back Office and applied to your POS devices.

These configurations control how the Lightspeed Restaurant app behaves, allowing you to customise settings, workflows, and operational rules for your business.

Correct configuration ensures your menu and order flow work properly when integrated with Slerp.

How do I configure a POS configuration?

You can find POS configurations in Lightspeed under: POS > Configurations.

Each POS configuration is linked to a specific menu.

Once you have completed your POS configuration, make sure it is associated with any menu that you push to Slerp.

Recommended settings

  1. Zero-priced items
    Set to Enabled.
This ensures that item groups or combos without a price are still visible on receipts, helping group products correctly and improving receipt clarity.

Order profiles

What is an Order Profile?

Order Profiles are customisable, preset configurations applied to POS orders in Lightspeed.

They help automate workflows by:

  • Setting the service type, such as takeaway or delivery

  • Linking specific price lists

  • Controlling order behaviour and completion rules

Order Profiles allow businesses to manage different service types efficiently, including online orders from Slerp.

How do I configure an Order Profile?

You can find Order Profiles in Lightspeed under: Business > Order profiles.

How you configure an Order Profile depends on the takeaway mode. Below are our recommended settings based on the Slerp fulfilment type.

Delivery and Pickup
  1. Allow order profile to remain active for future orders
    Set to Enabled.
This ensures the profile continues to apply to future orders.

  2. Order completion
    Set to Complete when delivered.
This ensures Slerp marks the order as fulfilled when it is marked as delivered or collected in the POS.

  3. Delivery delay
    Set to No delivery delay.
Slerp accounts for any additional preparation time based on your configured settings.

Delivery Only
  1. Takeaway mode
    Set to Delivery.

  2. Show delivery code on receipt
    Set to Enabled.
This allows drivers to see the order reference on the printed receipt.
