🍱 Create Menu Products

Use products to build your online menu. Each product sits in a category, has a price, optional image, and key attributes like allergens and calories.

How to create a product

Step 1: Login as admin on your Controls  → Products.

Step 2: Click Add (top left).

Step 3: Enter the Product name. 

Step 4: Review the automatically generated SKU:

  • SKU: internal Slerp product code.
  • PLU: only needed if you use a POS integration (e.g. Deliverect).

Step 5: (Optional) Add a clear Product description – keep it short and informative (ingredients, portion size, key selling points).

Step 6: Choose a Category (or create a new one) so this product appears in the right section of your menu.

Step 7: Upload a Product image (recommended).

Step 8: Enter the Price (incl. VAT) and VAT %.

  • Slerp automatically calculates the price excluding VAT.

Step 9: (Optional) Add Calories (kcal) if required.

Step 10: Add relevant Allergens using the allergen dropdown so they display correctly online.

Step 11: Configure any additional options as needed:

  • Featured product – add this item to your Featured Category (if enabled).

  • Order limit – cap how many units a customer can order per transaction (e.g. 2 per order).

  • Dimensions – helpful for logistics (e.g. courier size limits).

  • Alcoholic – flag products that contain alcohol.

Step 12: Click Add product to save.
