🏷️ Delivery Pricing by Basket Value

Delivery pricing by basket value lets you reward higher‑spending customers with cheaper (or free) delivery.

Set a few price steps/tiers

When the customer’s basket reaches each step, their delivery charge is reduced.

Example tiers:

  • Spend ÂŁ25+ → 20% off delivery
  • Spend ÂŁ50+ → 50% off delivery
  • Spend ÂŁ150+ → 100% off (free delivery)

You can set different tiers for:

  • Same‑day orders
  • Pre‑orders

Each location is configured separately.

⚠️ Important note about discount codes

If a discount code that applies to delivery fees is used at checkout, it will override your Delivery pricing by basket value.

Step 1 – Open the location’s delivery settings

  1. Log in to Controls Dashboard.
  2. Click Locations in the left‑hand menu.
  3. Click the location name you want to configure.
  4. Click Settings in the top‑right.

Step 2 – Choose the order type

At the top of the settings page:

  1. Click either:
    • Same‑day orders → Delivery, or
    • Pre‑orders → Delivery
  2. Make sure Delivery is enabled.

Step 3 – Find “Delivery pricing by basket value”

  1. Scroll down the Delivery settings.
  2. Look for the section called Delivery pricing by basket value.
  3. Click + Create New

Here you’ll see fields where you can add basket value thresholds and the delivery discount that applies at each step.

Step 4 – Add your tiers

For each tier:

  1. Enter the basket value threshold (the minimum spend).
    • Example: 15 for ÂŁ15, 30 for ÂŁ30.
  2. Choose the discount for delivery at that level.
    • Example: 50% off delivery, or 100% off for free delivery.
  3. Add more rows if you want additional tiers (e.g. ÂŁ10, ÂŁ20, ÂŁ30).

When you’ve finished adding tiers, click Save.

How it looks to customers

At checkout:

  • If a customer’s basket is below your first threshold, they pay your standard delivery fee.
  • If their basket reaches a threshold, their delivery charge is automatically adjusted based on the tier.
  • If they add more items and hit a higher tier, the new (better) discount is applied.

This encourages customers to add an extra item or two to reach the next free/cheaper delivery step.
