🕵️ Placing a Test Order

Before going fully live, we strongly recommend placing at least one test order.

Why place a test order?

This helps you:

  • Experience the customer journey end-to-end
  • Check products, pricing, and offers show correctly
  • Confirm orders appear correctly on your tablet or dashboard
  • Train your team on how to handle live orders

You can do this without paying any fees by using a 100% discount code and Pickup.

Before you begin

Make sure you:

  1. Publish your SlerpSpace
    • Your online store must be published so you can access it.
  2. Set up your tablet (if using same-day orders)
    • Ensure the tablet is logged into the Slerp app and connected to the internet.
  3. Create a 100% discount code
    • Follow: Creating and managing discount codes (link in your Help Centre).
    • Set it to 100% off products so the order total is £0.00 and you avoid any fees.
  4. Turn Pickup on
    • For testing, use Pickup to avoid delivery fees.
    • You can turn Pickup off again after testing if needed.
  5. Open your store
    • Ensure the location is open/available for orders during your test.

How to place a test order

  1. Visit your Slerp store
    • Your Slerp domain is under Settings > Company profile in Controls.
    • Open that link in a browser.
  2. Select Pickup
    • Choose Pickup as the fulfilment option.
  3. Add products to the cart
    • Add one or more products you want to test (e.g. popular items).
  4. Proceed to checkout
    • Go to checkout and enter the details required (name, email, etc.).
  5. Apply your 100% discount code
    • Enter the discount code you created earlier.
    • Confirm the order total is £0.00.
  6. Place the order
    • Complete checkout.

Where the test order will appear

  • Same-day orders
    • Will appear on your Slerp tablet app.
  • Pre-orders
    • Will appear on the Pre-Order dashboard in Controls (desktop).

Use this as a chance to:

  • Check how your team accepts, prepares, and completes the order
  • Confirm emails to the customer look correct
  • Adjust your prep time, order slots, or menu based on what you see.
