📱 Tablet setup

Use this guide to get your tablet or device ready to run the Slerp Partner App in your store.

1. Device Recommendations

For the best performance: 

  • Operating System
    • Android: Use the latest stable Android version, or within 2 major versions of the latest.
    • iOS (iPad/iPhone): Use the latest iOS, or within 2 major versions.
  • Memory (RAM): 4 GB or higher recommended.
  • Screen size: 8" or larger for easier order handling.

If your device is very old (cannot update to a recent OS or has less than 4 GB RAM), we recommend upgrading to avoid slow performance or crashes.

2. Connect to Power and Internet

  1. Plug the tablet into a reliable power source (ideally always on during service).
  2. Connect to a stable Wi‑Fi network with good signal where the device will sit.
  3. Disable any aggressive power‑saving modes that may stop background notifications.

3. Install the Slerp Partner App

On Android

  1. Open the Google Play Store.
  2. Search for “Slerp”.
  3. Tap Install.
  4. Once installed, open the app and log in with your Slerp credentials.

On iOS (iPad/iPhone)

  1. Open the App Store.
  2. Search for “Slerp Partner”.
  3. Tap Get then Install.
  4. Open the app and log in with your Slerp credentials.

4. Enable Notifications & Sound

To make sure your team doesn’t miss orders:

  1. Allow notifications for the Slerp Partner App when prompted.
  2. In the tablet’s Settings:
    • Make sure Do Not Disturb is off.
    • Turn sound on and set the volume high enough to be heard in the venue.
  3. In the Partner App:
    • Go to Account → Settings.
    • Confirm order alerts/notifications are turned on.

5. Keep the App Updated

We strongly recommend enabling automatic updates for apps:

  • This ensures you always have the latest fixes, features and security updates.
  • Check your device’s app store settings and turn on auto‑update for apps (or at least for the Slerp Partner App).

6. (Optional) Connect a Bluetooth Printer

If you will be printing orders:

  1. Choose a supported printer (see our printer setup articles, e.g. Star, Munbyn, Jolimark).
  2. Pair the printer with your tablet via Bluetooth (see section “Connect Star Printers” below).
  3. In the Partner App, go to Account → Settings → Print Settings and choose your printer.

7. Place a Test Order

Once everything is installed:

  1. Place a test order through your online store.
  2. Check that:
    • The order appears in the Partner App.
    • Notifications and sound work.
    • The order prints correctly (if using a printer).
